Meet Azizeh Rezaiyan, LMFT Couples Counselor & Therapist | Portland, Oregon

I’m a licensed psychotherapist specializing in couples therapy, relationship healing, and emotional well-being. For nearly three decades, I have had the privilege of supporting couples, individuals, and families as they navigate life’s transitions, relational challenges, and personal growth. My work is rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I primarily work with couples to help them reconnect, rebuild trust, and strengthen communication, while also supporting individuals and families on their journeys toward healing, clarity, and emotional balance. I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable and uncertain, and I strive to make that first step feel safe, supportive, and meaningful.

30 Years Experience In

Making Good Lives Better

Clinical Training & Therapeutic Approach

After earning my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I completed four additional years of advanced training in Integrated Body Psychotherapy (IBP), with specialized focus on couples therapy, communication, infidelity recovery, emotional crisis, anxiety, creativity, and sexuality. My clinical approach is informed by leading evidence-based modalities, including the Gottman Method, the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). By integrating somatic intelligence, nervous system regulation, attachment science, and experiential interventions, I offer a highly attuned and effective therapeutic process that supports deep emotional connection, relational security, and enduring transformation. My professional training, combined with my life experience as a woman, daughter, wife, and adoptive mother, has shaped a therapeutic style that is both clinically sophisticated and deeply human. I bring warmth, presence, and discernment into each session, creating a refined, confidential space where clients feel respected, emotionally safe, and empowered to engage in meaningful reflection and growth.

A Global Perspective on Love & Relationships

Having lived in four countries and trained in three, I bring a uniquely global and multicultural perspective to therapy. In today’s interconnected world, many relationships

cross cultures, languages, and traditions. These layers can enrich love—but they can also create complexity, misunderstanding, and emotional strain. My cross-cultural background allows me to support couples and individuals navigating multicultural identities, immigration-related stress, and the subtle dynamics that emerge when different worldviews meet. This lived experience brings depth, nuance, and sensitivity to my clinical work, especially for clients who may feel unseen or misunderstood in more traditional therapy settings.

Cultural Intelligence in Therapy

Relationships are deeply influenced by unspoken cultural beliefs—about communication, emotional expression, boundaries, gender roles, and expectations of love and partnership. My work honors these cultural layers, helping clients feel respected, understood, and emotionally safe.
As a native Farsi speaker, I also offer therapy in Farsi, providing first-generation and immigrant clients the comfort of expressing themselves fully in their own language. This allows for deeper emotional access, clarity, and connection—often leading to more meaningful therapeutic outcomes.

A Space for Reflection, Healing & Growth

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen, heard, and supported. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to walk alongside you—helping you gain clarity, strengthen connection, and move toward a more fulfilling emotional and relational life.

We all carry stories from where we’ve come—some inherited, some chosen. Therapy is the place where we begin to hear our own voice within them. Azizeh
